Requirements
Master's degree in mathematics (pure, applied, statistics), biology, chemistry, or physics
Master's in mathematics or science education option described here
GPA at least 3.50/4.00 in graduate coursework
Relevant and strong baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
GPA at least 3.25/4.00 in the last 30 semester hours of undergraduate work
Graduate Record Examination General Test scores are no longer required as the CSU has dropped this evaluation. Instead, a writing sample will be requested.

By December 31, complete online university application at Cal State Apply
By January 9, complete online MSED program application at Interfolio, which includes unofficial transcripts, 2 essays & 3 letters of recommendation. The Statement of Purpose and the Personal Statement (see the Interfolio instructions) are two different statements, each of which should be limited to approximately 500 words, or about two double-spaced pages.
From January to February, applications reviewed and finalists invited for Zoom interview and on-campus visit

By about March 1, invitations of admissions extended
In April, entering students complete UCSD application
