Last week I was up in Reno for the 2011 meeting of the Federation of Analytical Chemistry and Spectroscopy Societies, also known as FACSS...though the conference name will now change to SCIX for 2012 (these things get confusing at times).
This was my first trip to a FACSS conference and also my first time organizing a conference session; fortunately I had the help of Jeremy Edwards from the University of New Mexico. All in all, the experience was a good one, there seemed to be good interest in the session that we organized and it was great to see some friends from past conferences.
With that it looks like my conference travel is done for 2011, it’s been a busy year for conferences and it will start again very early in January. Though I’m not wholly done with conferences for now, I still have to organize a session for the ACS spring meeting which will be held in San Diego in 2012.
If you’re wondering about the photo, it’s from a quick side-trip I took around Lake Tahoe. The snow was an unexpected but fun addition to the trip.
