Emily graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Criminology. After graduating, she traveled to New Zealand for four months before becoming a research assistant at the Brain Stimulation Laboratory in Charleston, South Carolina. Under Dr. Mark George and Dr. Andrew Kozel, she worked on numerous fMRI studies involving deception, schizophrenia, and sleep. Emily joined BDIL and the Masters program at SDSU in August 2006. Currently, Emily is working on her thesis at BDIL using fMRI to investigate bisensory facilitation in autism. She would like to pursue a doctoral degree in this area in the future.
