Lori graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2002 with a Bachelor of Sciences in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts. Since then, she has been researching schizophrenia in older adults at UCSD's Department of Psychiatry. Lori has worked on the projects of Drs. Tom Patterson and Chrisitne McKibbin, studying the efficacy of cognitive training and functional rehabilitation in older adults with schizophrenia. She is now currently working on a physical activity intervention study under Dr. Laurie Lindamer at UCSD. The interaction with psychiatric patients has inspired Lori to learn more about how differences in brain structures lead to a change in behavior. As a result, she is pursuing her master's degree at San Diego State University's BDIL. At BDIL, Lori is working with Erin Moore, examining the plasticity of language development in children who had strokes early in development.
