We look for ways to block infection. We focus on assays for monitoring protease activity and through those assays find novel protease inhibitors. We study signaling cascades in HIV-infected or HIV-protein-expressing cells. As an important center of signaling we study the COP9 signalosome and its role in HIV infection. We search for factors that facilitate infectivity/replication through cDNA library screen-based assays. We believe these studies can reveal novel targets for anti-HIV therapy. |

We look for ways to block infection. We focus on the search for proteins that bind the viral genome and may facilitate in the various processes of the virus life cycle, mainly replication, transcription and translation regulation. As part of this research, we study the role of the UTRs. We search for factors that facilitate infectivity/replication through binding and cDNA library screen-based assays. We believe these studies can reveal novel targets for anti-HCV therapy. |
