Science Education Partnership Award

The Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) is a K-12 teacher development program in partnership with the San Diego State University College of Sciences, the San Diego State University College of Education, Cox Communications, and the Sweetwater School District that is supported by a SEPA grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In a three year period, the SEPA grant will allow for the training of 10-15 K-7 science teachers in mathematics, computer skills, and the use of Full Option Science System (FOSS) teaching modules. About 10-15 eighth-twelfth grade science teachers will be trained in molecular genetics, the Drosophila in human genomes, and physiology during successive summer training sessions.

Teachers who participate in this program will recieve $1200 for their summer participation. Application deadlines and participant selection are determined by the schools involved in this cooperative effort.
