The Student Support Services Program is an academic program at San Diego State University whose purpose is to assist eligible low-income and first-generation students in obtaining a college education by providing services such as academic advising, mentoring, graduation assistance, and tutoring in the form of Academic Enrichment Workshops. First-generation students are those students who are a member of a family where neither of the parents ever completed a four-year college education. A first generation student is usually the first member of the family to apply for a four-year college degree.

Funded by the United States Department of Education, Student Support Services is part of the TRIO programs.Students participating in this program will benefit from the various activities designed to improve their academic performance and their prospects after graduation.
