All Students will Participate in the Following:

    • A laboratory course which provides theory in regenerative medicine and hands-on experience in stem cell research techniquesJaco at work
    • A twelve month internship at a host institution, including, but not limited to the following: The Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discover Institute (SBP), The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), The Salk Institute for Biological Studies, the University of California at San Diego (UCSD) and various Biotech companies, including CALIBR, Genea Biocells and ThermoFisher.
    • Participation in the BSCRIP Journal Club and Colloquium which includes:
      • the monthly BSCRIP Stem Cell Colloquium at home and host site in conjunction with CSU San Marcos
      • the BSCRIP Journal Club (which meets every other week)
      • Bi-weekly seminar attendance at SDSU or host site
    • Other coursework
      • Research (30 hours/week) which includes Bi-monthly updates and a final research paper
      • Course in Regulatory Affairs
      • Ethics in Biomedical Research
      • Careers in Science
    • Other Activities
      • Patient Engagement Activities¬† (30 hours during the year)
      • Educational Community Outreach
      • Cell and Gene Meeting on the Mesa in Fall semester
      • SDSU Student Research Symposium in Spring semester
      • The Annual CIRM Bridges meeting at the end of the internship
