An interim Salton Sea Science Office has been established in La Quinta, California. The office is staffed by the following USGS personnel:

Dr. Milton Friend, Director of the Salton Sea Science Committee and Director of the USGS National Wildlife Health Center will spend 50% of his time at this office. Dr. Douglas Barnum from the USGS Biological Resources Division, Western Ecological Research center is now full time out of the La Quinta office. Dr. John Elder from USGS, Wisconsin District Office will spend 25% of his time with this office.
