Etymology: after Queen "Artemisia" of Halicarnassus + "three-toothed"
A shrub, with canescent, narrowly obtriagular leaves with a distinctive truncate, 3-lobed apex.
In the Great Basin, this is often the dominant plant, of "sagebrush scrub," which occurs sporadically in San Diego County.
