Dr. Emilio Ulloa. Ph.D.

Research Interests: Dating violence prevention, curriculum assessment, and undergraduate success.
Projects: Research aimed at curriculum assessment, tracking student success, identifying barriers to success, and program evaluation. Research aimed at identifying predictors of college student dating violence toward the implementation and evaluation of a prevention program.
Brandon Roberts
Year: Junior
Research Interests: I/O psychology
Projects: Class Analysis of Dating Violence Perpetrators.
Long term goals:

Jennifer Filson - Research Supervisor
Year: 2nd year Graduate Student
Research Interests:  Aggression and violence, attitude formation and change, inter-group dynamics, and quantitative psychology.
Projects: The role of powerlessness in violent relationships. How parental style impacts aggressive behavior and drug/alcohol abuse.
Long term goals: 
Obtain my PhD and become either a faculty  member or a policy maker.
Gretchen Kelmer - Research Supervisor
Year: 2nd year Graduate Student
Research Interests: Family Relationships, Romantic/Marital Relationships, Intimate Partner Abuse, Family and Couples Therapy Process and Outcomes.
Projects: Using Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) techniques to predict mental health outcomes of women in romantic relationships; Examining peer norms regarding intimate partner violence among young people; Determining the influence of gender attitudes on dating behavior; Psychometric evaluation of the Brief COPE measure.
Long term goals:  Obtain my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and pursue a career in psychological research.




Cristin Runfola
Year: Senior
Research Interests:  Women's Issues.  Dating violence among women and the assessment the effectiveness of therapuetic approaches used to treat eating disordered patients.
Projects:  Exploring the thoughts women have in psychologically abusive relationships.  In the future to explore the possible
relationship between dating violence, eating disorders and body dissatisfaction.
Long term goals: To obatin my Ph.D in Clinical Psychology and
work in the field of eating disorders as a researcher and clinician.

Christina Buelna
Year: Senior
Research Interests:  Interpersonal relationships, gender issues, and prevention of negative health outcomes.
Projects:  How sexual relationship power may mediate the relationship between dating violence and sexually transmitted diseases.
Long term goals: I want to receive a Ph.D. in Social Psychology or in Public Health.  I want to work in an academic setting as a professor and researcher. 
Ryan Cabuto
Year: Senior
Research Interests: I/O Psy. and School Psy.  Psychological abuse and causal factors.
Long term goals: Masters program in school psy. or I/O

Maria Ugalde
Year: Undergraduate
Research Interests: Women's studies
Projects: Exploring the thoughts women have in psychologically abusive relationships.
Long term goals:  I want to get my master's then go into a PhD program. I want to stay involved in research.

Research Interests:  Dating violence in adolescent relationships.  Women as perpetrators of psychological abuse.

Long term goals: Earn an MA in Industrial Organizational Psychology.

Research Interests: Fraternities, Ethnicity, and Gender attitudes, the MMPI-2, and Attitude.

Long term goals: My long-term goals are to become a clinical psychologist working in the academia as a researcher and professor, and providing clinical services in the community.

Research Interests:  Participation in greek life and its affect on dating violence
Long term goals: Earn a Ph. D in I/O and consult for major corporations in San Diego.
