Least Squares Data Fitting with Applications

In this course we will review the numerical solution of least squares data and parameter fitting problems, with emphasis on the following issues:

• Numerical tools for the analysis and solution of ill-conditioned linear least squares problems.
• Methods for general non-linear least squares problems and variable projection techniques for separable problems.

Available software will be discussed.
Knowledge of Numerical Linear Algebra and computing skills are assumed.
