In this short course we will start by deriving the relevant equations for fluid flow in porous media, including mass and momentum conservation for general continuous media and then concreting to porous media. Then we will review the basic ideas of finite difference methods and apply them to porous media. We will do the same for finite elements. Time allowing, we will cover methods of characteristics and the finite volume method.
