Members of the Lab:

Homer Peabody, Jr.:

Paul Paolini:

Kevin Krown:

Angela Collymore: is a student from La Mesa, and a graduate of Helix High School. She is now majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology at SDSU. Angie was one of the three students selected to do summer research in Mexico City under the auspices of Fogarty International. Her project related to the effects of KATP channel modulators on the calcium transients of muscle cells.

Hanaa Hamdi: is a junior at SDSU majoring in Psychology/Biology. Hanna is assisting in the cell culture procedure as well as preparing solutions for the isolation of heart cells.

Hansook Kim: was raised in Korea, graduated from UCLA in March of 1995 with a major in Molecular Biology., and is now a graduate student at SDSU. She is currently assisting on cell culture and hopes to someday work for a pharmaceutical company in research and development.

Michelle Miller: is from La Jolla and a graduate student at SDSU where she majors in Biology/Psychology looking towards a future in veterinary medicine. Her project involves studying insulin and tumor necrosis factor and their mechanisms in interaction at the cardiac level.

John Nguyen: is a senior at USD majoring in Biology. He is preparing for physician assistant school. John is currently assisting on the isolation of heart cells.

Anatoly Broyde: is a research associate with a BS degree in Engineering and is completing a cardiovascular technology degree at Grossmont College. He hopes to combine his expertise in seeing the heart as a whole organ and its ability to look at the myocardial cells from molecular perspective in future research.

Adam Royce: is currently finishing a Masters Degree in Biology at SDSU and plans a career in medicine. He enjoys working with people, computers and research, and would like to bring these interests into a single cohesive specialty.

Marcia Godinez: a senior majoring in Chemistry at SDSU, participated in several projects at RSRF including: insulin effects on contractility, measurement of calcium signals in muscle cells, and evaluation of naturally occurring antioxidants. She has published two scientific abstracts and received an award from Fogarty International. Marcia would like to pursue a career as a science teacher or in her research.
