Barrow WebCam

The Barrow site (71°18'N, 156°40'W) is located adjacent to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Monitoring and Diagnostic Laboratory (NOAA-CMDL). This study site is located 2 km south of the Arctic Ocean and is comprised of low- and high-centered polygons, ice wedges (polygon troughs), and drained-lake tundra land forms. Average summer temperature (June-August) is ca. 2.5 °C and average summer precipitation is ca. 36 mm. The web camera sits on top of the main CMDL building and looks South-West towards our tower.
