In order facilitate equipment reservations by users, the SDSU EM Facility is using a web-hosting calendar MeetingMaker.  Please contact me regarding login and passwords, which will be changed from time to time.  Please let me know of any problems.

Ground Rules:

Users may only sign up to use equipment they have been checked out on by EM Facility personnel.

Viewing the instructional videos is only an introduction to equipment use--not permission to use any particular piece of equipment.  Anyone found violating this rule will lose access and use of ALL EM Facility equipment.

Unless otherwise noted, equipment reservations are for no more than 4 hours at a time.  If no one else is signed up, a user may continue to use the equipment past their assigned time.

Users who will not use their time must delete their times on the calendars as soon as possible.

Each piece of equipment in the lab has a web signup sheet, and properly signed up people have the right to bounce 'walk-in' users off.

Contact me with any questions or problems.

There are two ways to access the equipment reservation software, either a web browser link, or a desktop java applet.  Personally, I prefer the desktop applet, but either one works well.

Accessing Meeting Maker--I:  Web browser

In your web browser, access http://bfa.sdsu.edu/mmweb

Log in with user name:  barlow

Password:  call me and I will tell you

Select serve in the pulldown window:  Rose_Bowl

In the left hand column, select the proxy in the pulldown window for the equipment you wish to reserve.  When that calender appears, check in the right hand corner for the calender name--it should be the same as the equipment of choice

In the left hand column, select "Create an activity".  In the new window, list your name and a contact number (so I can reach you, for example, if the equipment is unusable for your reservation.  Remember, anyone can see it, so don't use an unlisted number).  In the location box, enter your lab or office area.  Set the day, start time, and how many hours you will use the equipment.  The normal window is 4 hours.  Please check with me should you need a longer block of time.

select "Create", and you should now see your reservation on the calender.

Accessing Meeting Maker--II:  Direct Connection

The software can be downloaded from http://uco.sdsu.edu/mminstall.htm.  Pick the appropriate OS platform.

You will need to set up the system from the log in window to start

Protocol: SSL only (the TCP option no longer works)
Configure IP:  bfa.sdsu.edu

Select server:  Rose_Bowl

This software version is slightly different from the web browser.   Once you are inside the program, the first time you want to pull down the View window and select MasterSchedule. From that list, select the EM Facility from all the other groups on campus. Your computer should remember this selection in the future. Once in the EM Facility area,

    1. Go to 'Proxy' in the top tool bar and select the equipment of choice.
    2. Find the day you want to reserve and left-click hold down and drag in the day/time you want.
    3. Enter your name and a contact phone number (anyone can see it, so don't use an unlisted number) in the text area. If you use your lab number, remember that no one can contact your after hours.  Hit return and your reservation is entered.
    4. If you need to change your reservation, double-click on it and fix the day/time/contact informaton as necessary.  Hit update to save the changes . It is possible to double book--you will see two windows in the same time slot.
