I have been conducting research on effective teaching of rational numbers and on mathematics teacher enhancement activities aimed at assisting teachers to focus on children's thinking and to help all students succeed in mathematics. My current interests lie in preservice and in-service mathematics teacher education, particularly in the development of mathematics methods courses aimed at preparing beginning teachers to help all students, especially English Language Learners, succeed in mathematics.
