Fraction Applications
In most of these applications a fraction is represented as a partitioned and shaded rectangle. The user is required to specify the numerical value of a fraction by selecting a numerator and denominator. The application Fraction Pie uses a circular model.

Name That Fraction. Shaded representations of fractions are randomly presented for naming.

Compare Fractions. Compare fractions between 0 and 1.

Equivalent Fractions. Specify a fraction then construct an equivalence.

Improper Fraction. Create an improper fraction then convert to a mixed number.

Mixed Number. Create a mixed number then convert to an improper fraction.

Fraction of a Fraction. Multiply two fractions.

Fraction of a Fraction as Story Problem. Part of a part of a rectangular field is planted in roses (like Fraction of a Fraction, but with a context).

• Fraction Pie. Using a circular model, estimate the size of the shaded portion (available only on Macintosh).

Shader. Percentages, decimals, and fractions shown as proportionally shaded rectangle.

Shader Rules.
Like Shader but also includes a number line.

Place Value Applications

Base Player. Count in base n.

Base-ic Addition. Use symbols and blocks representations, and a hint if needed, to add in base n.
