INTRODUCTION
It is unclear how mood affects how individuals judge the
emotionality of information.  Knowledge of this
relationship may help us understand depression, since
different theories of depression predict different types of
emotional information processing.  A word rating task can
be used to look at these different predictions.
The present study examines which of several theories best
predicts differences in judgment of the positive and
negative emotionality of words by dysphoric and
nondysphoric individuals.
