Now that the neural network model has been shown to mimic some aspects
of affective information processing in depression, it is useful to
consider how other ways the network behaves might relate to
theoretical conceptions of depression. Specifically, what it might
mean to ``heal'' the ``depressed'' network, and factors which make the
network vulnerable or resiliant to acquiring negative information
processing biases will be addressed. As this section is perhaps the
most speculative part of the thesis, the reader's indulgence in
anthropomorphic termonology is requested.
